Milwaukee, like any city, is home to a network of events and icons which create a unique identity different from any other city. This is compounded by Milwaukee’s distinct seasonal shifts which create the need for a degree of temporality amongst the events. This thesis will examine the role of architectural experience through the context of a reinterpreted network of events, and the transposition of those events, or Milwaukee-isms, from their existing conditions into new architecture. The focus will be on the distillation of Bradford Beach down to its essence, and its consequent exaggeration and implementation in order to produce a determined exchange within the new setting of the Milwaukee Swing Bridge.
